Wild Week For The Leafs

So far I have only covered football (Divisional Playoff review coming up too) but, my favorite sport is hockey and my favorite team, ever since I was born has been the Toronto Maple Leafs (go ahead and laugh) so I decided to do a weekly review of what happens in Leaf Land.

Monday, January 10, 2011
The Leafs defeated the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in L.A. It was a great game to watch and even better that they won. It was a great team effort all around. Goals were scored by: Darryl Boyce, Phil Kessel, and Nikolai Kulemin with the winner.

The Leafs defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-2 in San Jose. James Reimer kept us in it for most of the game and looked great. It was also Ron Wilson's 600th career win. Goals were scored by: Phil Kessel, Clarke MacArthur, Carl Gunnarsson (winner) and Clarke MacArthur (2) (empty net)

Thursday, January 13th, 2011
Before the game the Leafs acquired Fabian Brunnstrom from the Dallas Stars in exchange for fading prospect Mikhail Stefanovich. Brunnstrom is now playing for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. The Leafs also had a game vs the Phoenix Coyotes, which they lost, snapping a 4 game winning streak by the score of 5-1. James Reimer looked pretty bad on a lot of the goals but, the Leafs weren't giving him much help on the scoreboard anyways. Goal scored by: Colby Armstrong. Maple Leafs forward Mike Brown was also suspended for 3 games for his head shot of Ed Jovanovski.

Saturday, January 15th, 2011
The Leafs were defeated by the Calgary Flames in a snore fest by a score of 2-1 (SO) There wasn't much action in this game until midway through the 3rd period. Even though they lost, they still manage to get a point. Goal was scored by: Mikhail Grabovski.

Upcoming schedule for the Leafs: @NY Rangers (1/19/11), vs. Anaheim Ducks (1/20/11), and vs. Washington Capitals (1/22/11)
